3s Slash and spec racing

Surprised I haven't seen discussions here or maybe I'm just missing it.

Looks like Traxxas is updating the line.

Anyone know how local clubs are handling this for Spec Slash racing?

I imagine this will hit the Oval models too.

I'm assuming the XL5 and BL2s are or soon will be discontinued.

Now I need to stock up on parts.

Hard to be mad considering how long they have kept the platforms going. Besides, parts are still everywhere. Buy a few of the main break items and tuck em away.

The motors aren't different enough to matter. The new VX3 motor is 3200kV with a slightly longer can, the old BL-2S has a slightly shorter stature and is 3300kV. For racing on 2S, the difference between the new and old will be negligible, if noticeable at all.
