Hey guys, I really want to get this discharger because I think there is a problem with my Tamiya discharger, but this discharger was designed for NiCD packs. Would it be fine to use with a NiMH pack? This is the problem with my Tamiya discharger, I use a NiCD pack with it and it shuts off at the right voltage, but when I use an NiMH pack it won't shut off, which I think is causing my packs to die. LMK. Thanks!

Nickel Metal Hydride batteries don't build up a memory and therefore don't need to be discharged like Nickel Cadmium batteries do. But, if you reallly want to discharge them, solder a series of DC auto tail lights together (six is good) and use a connector to plug the batteries into. This will do a great job of discharging your packs (no cut-off but dead cells).

This is what I use but I have a voltage cut off box that goes between the discharger and the battery. http://www.onlybatterypacks.com/showitem.asp?ItemID=10150.13 It is good to discharge your Nimh batteries once in a while but is not needed every time, usually with a bulb type discharger if you don't have a volt meter or cut off as soon as they start to dimm pull the battery off the discharger. thats how I did it for years and worked good for me..

Yeah, I'm going to get bulb-type instead. That was the same exact one I found on Google yesterday, so I'm gonna buy that and the cut-off they have. Thanks guys!
