30 Degree North 1/5 scale RC. Losi 5T 2.0 clone.
This is the electric roller option.
I have opted for a Max5 plus G2 esc and a 650KV G2 motor for 12s power.
I have also added some essential TaylorRC upgrades. Skid plates, front and rear chassis brace as well as front upper brace.
Perfect Pass 110KG servo is installed.
Max5 G2 Plus esc and 650KV G2 motor installed, this rig is coming out amazing. Can’t wait for its maiden voyage! Gonna solder some QS8 plugs on it.
Also put the shock sleeves on
Got the esc soldered, and new batteries on order. I also had to order a pinion gear as I’ve found out with the stock mount it is only compatible with a 19T pinion or a 21T pinion. 18T the mesh is way to loose, and a 20T the mesh is way to tight. Of course the LHS didn’t have a 19T or 21T.
Also decided to put my Proline MX43s to use after replacing the rims on two of them. Looks super good!
As I wait for new batteries and battery straps, I decided to check out the center diff. I took it apart and the diff fluid was incredibly thin. I never would’ve guessed they’d put such think oil in a 1/5 scale RC. After some research I have decided to try 500K. Hopefully it’ll feel good, always open to more tuning options but I believe I would’ve had horrible power distribution to the wheels.
“Final” form for this truck just have one more piece coming to finish it off. Make it stand out a bit will post once I get it in.
Here’s how it sits currently, still have to do the front and rear diffs, center is done.
Just ordered a Losi 5T 2.0 steering bellcrank from Vitavon. Will be doing the push pull method, making the steering as strong as possible. The stock plastic bellcrank flexes a bit with the servo at 8.4V and these big badlands don’t help. Hoping this fixes the steering and really improves it
Vitavon steering bellcrank installed, just have to get the push pull steering setup now
Vitavon adjustable servo horn, and servo links installed. Had to turn the servo 180 degrees so the links would work but the steering is amazing!
