mine isn't comeing till the 2nd march america always get things before the uk sucks.

depends on what one you get and how good you can follow the directions. there is alot of small parts. I am sure if you could build the savage you can install a 3 speed.

I didnt realize there are different ones out there. Which one is the best one to get?

you can get the kit with all the parts to turn your 2 speed into a 3 speed or you can get the prebuilt and all you have to do is take the 2 speed out of the truck and put the 3 speed in.

So I'm guessing the KIT version is cheaper than the prebuilt version right? How much faster will it go with the 3 speed?

the kit version is cheaper. hpi say it will go 10% faster and you will have 10% more torque so it bepends how fast your truck go's now and how much torque it's got.

Well It came in the mail today!!!!!!!!!! I'll have it in this weekend and let you guys know how it is.

:flamer: i need to get on of those! along with reverse, a bigger engine, and a good roll cage :flamer:

Yes just got a email from the model shop i got mine from and it has be sent sould be here at the weekend can't want.

I got my 3 speed tranny kit today and just got done putting it together it was simple enough, I havent tested it yet, but in my opinion it seems kinda flimsy, some of the gears are much thinner in order to make room for the 3rd gear I guess and one of the gears is PLASTIC, I'm running the wasp 28 so my guess is that plastic gear isnt going to last long, has any one else gotten one yet? if so any opinions on it?

I just finished putting mine together also, and I agree about how thin the gears are. The one plastic piece is the final drive gear so I don't see it taking much abuse. Plus, the original 2 speed had two plastic gears in it and that held up very well. In all, it was very simple to put together. I can't wait to run it!!!

i find it the same.
when you push your truck now dose it seem to be draging a bit more than when the 2 speed was in.

I noticed it to be tighter, and I found that the small end on the two piece rubber plug was rubbing on the gears. So all I did was trim a little off and now it rolls real smooth

A friend of mine installed it yesterday. His truck pulled wheelies anyway, but now, it violently throws itself upside down. He's also running a small set of tires.
1st and 2nd shift fast. Wheelies from 1st to 2nd. 3rd comes in a little later (which all of this can be adjusted).
It definetly seems to have more torque, and top speed.
The engine he is running is the ofna .27, green head.

i took mine down the park i know it's shifting to all the gears but i can't really hear it.
must have had bad meshing on my spur because it striped on tank 3 and it ended all the fun. i hate meshing the gears. :depress:
