what do you mean by...."can't keep it in tact?" Is your spring tight enough? I've never had a prob with mine. I broke a spring once, but that's an easy fix.

Old2.5 - Are you using aluminum shoes or stock type plastic(?)/composite shoes?

olds97_lss - I know for the purposes of this thread you were pointing out M2C's 3 shoe Traxxas type clutch, but their 4 shoe system looks interesting for other vehicles.
Have you tried any of their products and if so what are your thoughts?
Looks like they provide a pretty complete package with options.

No, I haven't tried them. Pretty sure they are a forum sponser. If you run a search here I'm sure you can find more info about the. Look for something like "m2c clutch" and you should come up with something.

I run a 1/8th clutch/flywheel in my revo. Had to move my trans forward a bit.

Quick question: What is the advantage of aluminum clutch shoes over the composite (plastic?) ones other than higher resistance to normal wear and tear?

More grab, less slip, if properly maintained. They require maintenance though. I'm not sure how often, but you should take the bell off and remove any burrs that build up as the shoe face wears. The burrs will catch on the flywheel and hang up if you don't.

Oh, I see. That makes sense. The reason I ask is because I was given a set of Losi aluminum shoes, but I never saw the need to install them. Thanks.
