how do you know what a 3.3 is shot as far as dont with need new motor?

You can tell if it's worn out a few ways. If you can turn it over really easily with your finger without much of a popping sound it probably has little compression. Also if the motor is running at sporatic temps can be another sign. They get harder to tune and can die somewhat randomly.
 
Sorry guys what i mean is i think my motor is bad i dont know wether to rebuild or buy new one but when i try and start it the wheels move and some times dies out of the blue not sure whats going on I'm very confused

Clutch spring is bad, after fixing that, re-tune it.

Cost-wise, don't rebuild, it's cheaper to buy a new motor retail, and even cheaper yet to find a new one on eBay. But what I said is most likely the problem.
 
+1 on aliens response. Take your clutch bell off. No doubt,there's a busted spring in there. Mine was broke a few weeks ago and the end,of the spring was melted into the shoe. :whhooo:
