So I was out basing a few weeks back, when I noticed that the plastic ring on the cooling head of my 3.3 was smoking a little. I shut it down immediately. I let it cool, and looked it over only to notice that my fuel line was pinched a little, which I could imagine, made it lean out. I tried making minor adjustments afterward to see if it would run, and it would.. but every time I let off the throttle it shuts down. What should I try next?

Have you checked compression? Turn the flywheel by hand, it should take moderate force to rotate a healthy motor. If the motor turns over with little or no resistance, it's probably time for a piston and sleeve.

If you still have compression and everything moves fine by hand the motor should be ok. Like Racer 1966 said, try some tuning. Was it actually that plastic ring or maybe the wire going to the glow plug. Your plug may be bad now also.
