I have the 3.3 in a S-maxx. I love the power and speed of the truck. But when i hit WOT and let off, it dont come back down to idle very quick...unless I hit the brakes. If i dont hit the brakes it will come down just not real quick. I have checked to make sure the carb is not sticking so I'm confused. I also noticed when it does come back to idle its a little high until I tap the throttle and it will drop back down to normal Idle.

The truck has about 5 tanks ran after breakin...not sure if that helps.

I'd run a bit more fuel through it and give it some time. A lot of engines take 3/4-1 full gallon before their tune calms down and becomes stable.

That said, it sounds a bit on the lean side on the HSN, but I could be wrong.

I was thinking it was lean as well. But the weather here has been crazy...one day 65 degrees and the next 30 degrees. I probably should wait for good weather before trying to run it and fine tune it. But you know how it is when you get a new toy...lol

I'm going to get a temp gauge this week. I will try to rich it up and my temps and results.

Here is a video I found on YouTube and it does the same thing that I was trying to describe. If you listen to it when he does the WOT down the street and back..

I would try to rich the lsn 1/8th my 3.3 kept idling high like this and i did some checking around and one person told me lean it I tried and it was worse another said to rich the low speed because after you are to temp and stab the throttle to full speed and let off it should almost immediately return to idle unless it's to lean so I tried that and whalah problem fixed. Just remember the 3.3 is a small block and from what I have found and heard from others the small blocks are just a beast to tune the big blocks seem to be the easier ones to tune......
