3.3 ripping out center shafts

I have a new maxx 3.3 4907. I keep ripping out my rear center shaft. I found a steel shaft on eBay but I'm afraid something else may get messed up if I put steel in and it will probably slow me way down. What type of shafts should I use that's good for bashing?

It sounds like your slipper clutch is adjusted too tight, and yes if you replace the rear center shaft with steel then the excessive force will just start damaging the next piece down the line such as the differential or drive axles. I would definately check your slipper clutch.

Thanks. That actually makes total sense, I fried my slipper clutch when I first got the truck and had to put a new one in and it is pretty tight. I didn't realize it would mess up my center shafts. Oh well, lesson learned. Thanks again.

I'm running the traxxas 5153r drive cups along with an HPI 86151 dog bone, works great and so far has held up after 3 gallons on the 3.3 and now about a gallon through the picco .26
