Transplanted my revo with a 3.3 outta my tmaxx and for two days its been blistering! I mean running excellent. Then today just an hour or so ago after about my third tank of the day it fouled a plug. Replaced it and it fired right up and when i hit the gas it went about 30 ft and locked up completely! Dang if that didnt end the day all kinda wrong. So now the question is, where is the best place to get new internals for the 3.3 or should i just send it to traxxas for a trade for $110 plus $5 shipping. I also have my 2.5r thats not locked up but needs a new sleeve and piston. Can swap it for $85 plus $5 ship as well and i have a brand new 2.5R on the way from ebay.

for the 3.3 if it needs new piston/ sleeve i would send it and do trade in but for th2.5 i would send it to rayaraceing and have him resize the sleeve $ 20 + shipping worked for me .I don't run much and really don't abuse it anymore .

I'm thinking the connecting rod broke and if so the same one is in the 2.5R. Just need to take it apart and see. And then just send the 2.5 off for another new one. Apparently i do run em hard but also bought both trucks used so new engines with a good breakin should hold up for a while and having a spare doesn't hurt.

It was the rod and it took the piston with it. Looks like a rebuild kit and new rod in the future for the 3.3. I stuck the 2.5 back in it just to have it running again for a bit.

I wouldn't bother with the rebuild, just send it to Traxxas, after you get the 3.3 send the 2.5r in for a 3.3.

I have a new 2.5R coming from ebay and will eventually send this old one to traxxas for a trade. But on the 3.3 i can rebuild it for $60 versus $115 trade. But if i do run across yet again an extra $115 i will send the 3.3 to traxxas as well fir a new one. It would be nice to have all 3 engines brand new

I'd consider a Davis Deisel rod and some quality bearings. These address the 3.3's main reliability issues. At least go with some high quality bearings.

Where can i buy this davis desil brand? Got a link? Cause I'm gonna rebuild the 3.3 for sure and i know i want to build it with better parts than stock if i can find em.

Found it! $44.95 and holy crap it looks alot stronger than stock! Thanks

I'm definitely going to use RB mods parts for camshaft and bearing along with their piston and sleeve. With a davis diesel rod to rebuild my 3.3. Also I'm gonna order aRB mod head for it as well. This is gonna be a nice project as it comes together over the nex couple months as money allows. Already broke engine down completely and cleaned it good and its ready for new parts to be rebuilt.
