i have a t maxx (4907) with a 3.3 engine. te other day i was running the truck an it ran great. today i went to start it up an it will not start. the engine turns over and has compression. it is getting fuel and the glow plug is working but still will not start. I'm getting very frustrated. any help would greatly be appreaciated.

How is the compression? make sure the glow plug is glowing through the whole coil

If you're using the EZ start, how do you know that the glow plug is heating up? Are you going off of the light on the wand or are you pulling the plug and watching it light up?

i pull the glow plug out and press it against the outside of the cooling head to make sure it lights. it ran great the day before then i took my ez start wiring harness off to put on my boys truck so he could run his. since the hobby shop isnt open on sundays when things usually break.

i have tried new fuel line a different carb and even a new glow plug. and still nothing. it will turn over but thats it wont even try to start.i am at a compete loss of what to try next.

make sure your ground wire is hooked back up. its the yellow wire attached to the engine mount

my yellow wire is hooked up to the back of the exhaust where it always has been and i made sure it was tight.

if you have good glo and good compression, check fuel.check air filter.
if all appears good now you should look for an air leak in the rubber boot.

Just because a plug glows when voltage is applies does NOT mean its still good. Plug coils contain platinum which causes a reaction with with the fuel which keeps it glowing without voltage. Put in a new plug... if you have compression, fuel, and air its the last ingredient to a running engine.

I agree it's possible. I did have one a couple of years ago that ruined my race day chasing problems. never 100% nailed it down.

Your air leak post is another possibility too, good call. That's a tricky one and pretty common. Always fun to diagnose those lol

where would be a good place to start looking for air leaks? i have never had one.

the base of your air filter is where i hear most people find the leak. ANY tiny split in a rubber boot can raise havoc. very hard to tune is a normal sign to start with.

ihave tried a completely different carb from a running 2.5r an still nothing.

did you put a NEW plug in it? do you have "fresh" fuel in it? make sure the blue wire is connected on both ends good. aren't nitro's fun! ;) we'll figure it out

They certainly are a blasty blast! 90% work 10% play, what else could you want?
