Last weekend I ran about 2 tanks of gas. It was running great until it flipped. After that I have spent yesterday cleaning it and trying to get it started. From what it looks like, the fuel gets to the carb but doesn't appear to go beyond that. Every once in a while you can see smoke as if the fuel is burning but then it goes away. Any suggestions?

Check your fuel banjo and make sure its tight and sealed...Try changing the glowplug plus setting the carb back to stock settings which is 2 turns out on the LSN and 4 turns out on the HSN..The 3.3 runs the best with an OS8 glowplug for me...before you stick in the new plug use a fuel pinch clip and crank the engine to evacuate any built-up fuel and then install glowplug and remove fuel pinch clip and try to start it up with fresh fuel in the fueltank and tune it back to par from there after you get back up and running.....Also check out the rubber o-ring on the fueltank and make sure its sealing properly to hold tank pressure..

You say "flipped". Does this insinuate that it landed hard on the roof and possibly the engine made contact with the ground?

You may want to check your crank case for cracks. I've snapped the ear right off the side of the engine before and didn't know why it was running so bad until I realized I had a pool of oil sitting on the chassis. Thought it was the front bearing... until I unscrewed the engine mount bolts and the ear fell off showing me a nice big hole in the crank case. Just a teeny air leak there...

There was no hard contact with the ground. I pulled the engine out, cleaned and inspected it last night. Everything looks good. No holes, no nuttin.

I've changed the glowplugs and moved the carb settings from one end of the spectrum to the other.

I'll keep screwing with it.

I'm using the (not so) EZ-Start w/ glowplug wire. Why do you ask.

That maybe your problem there. Its pretty easy to get a short in the crappy blue wire. Get a Glo-plug ignitor and see it that will help. Plus it will not be such a drain on your ez-start battery in your wand.

I would suggest dumping the Traxxas Engine and putting in an OS engine they are so solid and easy to take care of. The Traxxas engines seem touchy to me.

I'd agree with you, but considering the 3.3 is $150 and the OS21TM (18TM no longer exists) is $250-$300... I'd try to get the 3.3 running before tossing it.

Well I'm only saying AFTER your other one dies :-) you get what you pay for remember

Try a battery with a mah rating of 2000 or higher in the ez-start wand...Under 2000mah just doesn't cut it for cranking the engine and igniting a glowplug at the same time efficiently enough to fire it up .....

When you say you changed the glowplug ...What number plugs did you use for replacements....OS#8 works the best in all my 3.3's for me...
