2wheel drive?

I have my friends busted down t-maxx in my basement. The back wheels spin but the front ones dont. I think it was the diff so we took it apart and it is fine. it seems to have 4 wheel drive when the front tires are off. but when added it dont work. It seems as if if add weight then it will stop working and you please explain what is wrong. or give me some ideas on what is wrong.

Does it make any nosies at all ? have you checked the pins (set screw type) in the cups of the out drives? also the ones on the front driveshaft?

You might want to check the drive axle from the transmission to the front of the truck. Is it still there? If it is still there, check to make sure that the diff cups have not come loose from their posts. Each diff cup should have a grub screw that is nice and tight. Look at the side of the diff cup near the base. You should see what looks like two holes that are on opposite sides of the diff cup. One of those holes should be occupied by a grub screw that you can tighten down with an allen wrench (hex driver).

Next, you can grab and hold one of the "broken wheels". Spin the other. Do any of the rear wheels try and turn? If so, the diff is should be okay.

are the little pins in ur axles there where u put the little hex nut? if not the axle will just spin when ur tires are on.

Well we found it what it was it was because of the 4 screws in the diff houseing. 2 of them busted off the other 2 were loose. He got a nee diff house and now the front wheels spins backwards and the back wheels spin the right way. lol

ya he put the diff in upside down, all u have to do is take it out and turn the diff braces around and put it back in. i do it all the time
