New to newer RC. Anyway I have a Traxxas Rustler with 3s ESC. I installed a 3s battery and smoked the hell out of the trans. Melted the plastic trans housing and bought a new trans. Anyway, what do I need to run 3s without frying the trans or gears. I was one gear up from stock for speed, but now back to stock gearing.

What should I do to run 3s battery?

Thanks

Would you possibly have a link to a set of gears you would recommend? I couldn't find many options for metal gears so maybe you like a specific brand. And is that all you recommend? Anything else I should do when using a 3s because the truck becomes pretty insane. lol. Should I change gear ratios? I was thinking a lower ratio for more top speed would be better to eliminate some of the torque. This is a wheelie machine just using a 2s and standard gears.
