Has anyone dealt with 2coolrc? I purchased shock springs from them that they had claimed where stiffer than original Integy Springs. So I proceeded to email them and ask if they were stiffer than the stock integy's they said yes much stiffer. I get the springs in the mail a few days later....and....Oh wow I just bought a set of stock integy blue springs that come on the MSR4's just like the ones I didnt want. (but prior to this I purchased the team blue star 1.5,2.0,2.5,3.0 mm hex set) So I call them up and tell them that "hey this is the same thing, the guy breaks my stones for a little while telling me I am wrong and that I dont know what I am talking about. Then tries to sell me another set of the springs (40 pack different stiffness) Now I am wrenching away on my maxx (wrenches only 2 months old)..only to have my 2.0mm hex wrench strip out on me. Truck was running like crap, broke something now this wrench strips...what could go wrong????? I shoot of an e-mail asking 2coolrc how do I go about getting this fixed cause it broke so soon. I was polite in the email. I get a one line email. We dont warranty wrenches tools wear out. TOOL WEAR OUT???? I have tools that I have owned for yrs and used daily that didnt wear out WTF does that mean? (cheap tools all the way up to matco,snap-on) I sent them another email to clarify and their response was Oh nothing...I have yet to hear from them. 3 weeks now. I think I will call on monday. What do you guys think? Do tools wear out that fast? ok sorry for the long winded post. They just got my ass out with the lousy customer service. How can you run a business like that????

~Michael

That is pretty crappy service. I haven't heard anything good about any Team Blue Star product, so I wouldn't imagine there tools to be any different. If I were you I'd contact Team Blue Star directly to see what they'll do about it.
As far as the springs it sounds like the guy just didn't know what he was talking about. He should have at least apologized and offered up a pair of the correct springs free of charge.

Nope didnt even do that, tried to sell me (not even trade) the other set. Thanks anyway. Ahh that is a good idea about contacting team blue star. Ummmm got a web addy??? Thanks

p.s. Hey Gil thanks, Not sure why I didnt do it sooner but I just shot off an email to team blue star. I told them the same story I just wrote. Hopefully they can do something for me.

~Michael

hmmmmmm...yet another update. Seems Team Blue Star has the same attitude that 2coolrc has. We just distribute the wrenches go to the your retailer with any issues. Best of luck....

Gee thanks...

does anyones else here think I am wrong? Am I just :deadhorse and should I give up and waste my money on different wrenches??

Man, that's really shady.

I use the Dynamite hexes. I wrench the hell out them and they all still look like they're brand new. Other than the quality, the price is the best part: You get 3 in a pack for right at $20. They sell the packs in either Metric or Standard.

sweet...maybe I will go for those. Thats seems like a good deal. and I can send the rest of mine back to the other places and tell them were to shove em....

I have ruined hex wrench tips in a few seconds. Usually there is enough material to grind away the damaged portion and start over. It is very easy to ruin a good tool. I have ruined many quality tools, mostly through mis-use. I don't think you have much to complain about on the tool issue. It's extremely easy to strip out a hex wrench tip or screw.

The spring mix-up is another topic, but perhaps the sales guy didn't understand what you were ordering.

Still, quality service is getting harder and harder to find. When I locate a good parts provider, I stick with them. Even then, I try to make sure I know EXACTLY what I want before I place the order. For instance, I order lots of stuff through Tower Hobbies, a great store, but they have lots of women answering the order line and these gals don't know a foam carpet tire from a MT dirt tire. But the store still has great service and good deals. You just gotta have patience and work through the system to make sure they understand your order.

Oh, I got a set of shocks from 2coolrc; sent to me quickly, no problems.

I use losi metric allens. They were kind of pricey (at least I thought so at the time), but it's now 2 years later and they are still like new. Well, aside from some scratches and gouges on one of them from using visegripes to clamp down and remove a engine mount screw.

The only thing I don't like about them is that they make the handles smaller as the size goes down. It says they do this so you have less of a tendency to strip screws... well that's all good and everything, but tell that to my arthritic knuckles that knot up 5 minutes into a teardown session with my maxx!

I now am in the habit of takeing the driver apart and putting the bit in my cordless drill. per bomber's advice, I use the clutch on my drill to avoid ripping screws apart. Should have listened to him sooner, I have 2 sets of bulkheads that wish I did too.

Oh, here's a link Losi Allen

In hindsight, I guess they weren't that expensive.

i got 8 light blue trinity springs alot stiffer then stock msr4 and msr5 springs

lmk if interested ill locate them all

Man, the easiest way to get out all those allen screw fasteners is to get some 1/4 drive tips that just click in and out of the cordless driver (assuming you have that type of driver). I get mine here: http://nitrohouse.com/tools1.htm These babies really save your wrists. Like olds97 says, you just loosen up the clutch on the driver to avoid stripping screws and tools. You can strip down a rc vehicle in no time with a cordless driver and some of these tips.

I guess these 1/4 drive tips must be a big seller. I was just lookin' at the prices. I bought a bunch of them two months ago for $4.95 each, now they are $8.95, damn.

Hey Chevy, how are the tolerances on those? I had my local hardware store order me a few kind of like what was there, but they were shorter, about 2 inches in length. But the ends weren't ground for a very good fit. Pretty sloppy. They work ok on loose stuff, but anything that's at all tight, they just strip them out.

The tolerances are pretty good. Overall length is about 4 inches, so they are just right for RC work. I have stripped a couple out, but I ground off the stripped part and they are working good again. Like any tools, you gotta show some respect. Keep the driver clutch loose and you should be fine. :bandit:

Yea I have Snap on tools older than me. I have never had tools wear out so darn quick. I do have something to complain about if the tools die after 2 months of use. I have thousands of dollars worth of tools from automotive to home. NOT one has ever died that quickly. Its a lack of quality issue IMHO. Also the fact that both companies are passing the buck saying oh no talk to this person or you have to go to the other company. It was more of a bitch that customer service has all but been lost for good with some companies. Thats all I have to say for this thread anymore.

dont do buiss with 2coolrc

i have never had a worst time dealing with an online purchase than the one i made with 2cool....i ordered aluminum integy arms from them on the 14th of may....never got an email from them never got anything from them but they charged my credit card. waited about two weeks and still nothing so i sent a nice email asking for info..... Nothing, called and left a nice message.....NOTHING. now almost a month later still no arms and after 3 emails and numerous calls no response telling me anything. So today i left a bad message on the answering machine to cancel my order. they CANCELLED my order!!! i honestly thought it was a scam and suggest anyone thinking of buying from them think again

Hey, you do realize the last post on this thread was in 2004 right. Just saying thats a good way to start a thread without starting a thread. I thought 2coolrc was a good site. At least it seemed good. I don't know if I can trust them now.

I had almost the same experience with them recently. I ordered the FLM alum diff kit and things went the same way, no shipping, no update, no nothing. I finally ordered the kit from addicted2rc.com and canceled my order with 2cool. I had already notified my credit card company to place a hold on the purchase. After I sent an email requesting a cancelation, I got a response right away from 2cool and they refunded my card the same day, WTF???? Anyway I've moved on and won't deal with them anymore.

If you want FLM parts go with addicted2rc, they are the largest stocking dealer and are located about 15min away and will drive to pickup any parts they don't have in stock.

I am a wholesale parts distributor for diesel trucks. I may have some advice for you that will help you obtain your money back on the shatty products. PM me if your interested, I can help!

2cool

i think the main thing that made me mad was the fact they charged my card and had no follow up response on time it would take to get me the parts. if they would of followed up on my calls/emails and told me a month i would of prob. been cool with it.

Ohh ya!!! i am filming a bashing video including revo 3.3, redcat truggy, and a savage xl. hopefully will be finished soon. sunday I'm going out to film with my buddies rc helicopter camera. so watch for it on you tube. brsmith is my youtube.
