I will be stationed there around October and was wondering about the local track/ hobby scene. There isn't a whole lot there but if anyone has any info on the local area I would be interested to know. I am new to the hobby but I run a 1/8 Kyosho Inferno 7.5/777/lol.....it's all mixed up but upgraded from a 7.5 at least with a Novarossi 21-5 engine.

you have the largest track in the world there. Its just not marked off.

There is literally nothing to do there. Might want to convert your truck to electric so at least you will never be waiting on fuel/plugs to get there.

I wasn't into rc when i was out there but man o man was i ready to leave after just 2 weeks.

its the desert but you get what you want
there is no hobby shop local
there was a hobbytown usa in palm dessert but they closed up a few years ago
i lived in 29 palms to palmsprings for 23 years until 2 years ago and i moved back home
you will have to drive at least an hour to san bernadino or riverside to get stuff
good luck
hope you like it nice and hot

oh I'm fine with hot. I've lived in 140 degrees before and it didn't really bug me except that I always drank water but never had to go to the bathroom lol. There's a track apparently 1 hour or so away but there aren't a whole lot of people that live out there sadly. Guess that's what I get for joining the Marines. They always pick the crappiest land possible for a base except for Pendleton. Looks like Amain, Tower Hobbies, and Carolina Hobbies are going to get a lot of my business in the future lol. At least now I won't have to wait a week at the minimum for parts.

yes there is a track in banning
as for the people the base has alotof marines deployed thats why the area is what it is
lets just pray that everyone comes home.

Have you seen the track recently at all? I listened to directions for a track here in Japan and it took me a week to get all the grass off the track and I'm still repairing the jumps.

Just hook up with the guys when you take the Herky express down here to Okinawa. They will take care of you on the track. If we can run 1/5 scale on it you will have plenty of room. Pure good times. The hobby shop I was telling you about (RC Paradise) is just out of Gate 1 of Kadena in a shopping center called Navel Kadena .....yes I spelled that correctly...but they messed up the translation. Fuel is even hard to get here too sometimes.

Cool thanks man. Hopefully it'll be good times right before I leave Japan.
