OS is bringing these back... but it seems to be upgraded and more powerful... and hopefully faster. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LNJRW8&P=G

The 4 stroke .26, how many of you actually remember this engine? I still have yet to hear one run. OS MIGHT bring back the 1/8th scale .40 4 stroker, I hope these sell better than before. OS never really advertised them hard.

I will definately have to pick me up one of those. I'm really interested in having a 4 stroker. I'm glad they've decided to bring back the car engine.

It just doesn't turn the RPMs but the amount of torque and power should allow you to gear it taller.

I heard recently that there is a law stating 2-stroke engines will not be allowed to be produced after 2008.....I heard this from a friend in motocross and his version was ALL 2-stroke engines.....has anyone else heard anything else about thnew law...that may be why this is being re-introduced........

I think that the law if for motor cycles or quads and stuff like that. I doubt they would get the balls to take rc almost completely off the market...

well i also heard about it affecting lawnmowers and other small utility engines.....that's what made me wonder about the whole deal....

sounds like a bogus rumor to me. Just sounds really really drastic. maybe one of those bogus stories that gets made up because of current popularized ideas. But what do I know.

yeah i heard the same thing plaidfish heard on all 2 strokes because when i picked up my last dirtbike the guy told me to make it last cuz there would be no more 2 strokes at all after 2008!! that will be really lame!

I know the EPA has been buckin for the law for a while...I just can't find any legislation that's been passed and finalized on it.....the dirt bike guys were all pissed until the 4 strokes coming out just got some hella balls now.....I tried the suzuki 450 a few weeks ago and it scared the poop out of me....I remember 4 strokes like 10 years ago being the crappiest dogs out there.....now they can't be touched w/ the 2 strokes....when did that happen????

that's really sucks if you ask me. I think it's just rediculous how over governed this country has become. Banning an entire wing of an industry? c'mon now. I understand the EPA has a job to do but that's just getting rediculous. what are they gonna do next? Ban V-10's and 12's? Everybody knows E-checks are BS yet some of us still have to deal with it. :nono: sometimes I truly feel like I missed my era.

One word... emissions. I think its retarded. stroke rc car enginges dont do that ,much damage.

PiErow is right, 2-stroke engines have much more emissions than the more refined 4-Strokes. I don't think they should ban them, thats too drastic of a measure IMO.

I thought the law stated that you could only race 2 stokes or use them on private property... (or what i heard from people )

well when i lived in california i rode at public places and it was allowed so they still allow it and from what i hear are going to let ppl that have them still ride but the engines just will not be produced anymore starting 2008. thats just what i hear.

Production stops in 2008... if you still have a 2 stroke, big deal... they can't really stop you from owning something. (well they can but its too much to junk at once).

THIS IS INFACT GOING TO BE A LAW it will outlaw the production of 2-stroke motors, this is why you see 4-stroke jetski, chainsaw, weed eater, and boat motors, this has been very significant to the small (<10 hp)out board boat motors, now they are going to be a lot bigger and heavier, and this is a bad thing on a boat... I think LOL. but you can still have 2-stroke motors, and I bet there will be a huge black market on 2-stroke motors in the US, just like the black market for the old toilets that REALLY FLUSH, the new ones use like 1/2 the water per flush, but clogg LOL a black market for toilets, I would have thought it would have been a brown market LOL
