hi i picked up a 2nd hand savge flux and it was fitted with 23mm wheel hex's
i have been looking around for some new wheels and tyres but seems like the better ones are 17mm fittings so looking at going to 17mm hex
first question
is there a downside to this as 17mm seems very popular
second question
i see hpi sell 17mm hex and 17mm adaptor hex kits (i have spare 17mm hex's)
what is the difference as the 17mm hex adaptors has a bigger nut
where as the 17mm hex sits behind the wheel and the use of the normal axle nut is used witch is allot smaller
that's how it looks anyway
third question
so i am looking at 17mm wheels
but going on the above (now this really sounds like i am thick lol) will the hole in the centre of the wheel be different sizes
as with the hex adaptor its allot larger than just the axle when using just the hex
if that is the case how do i tell what wheels will fit using the hex adaptor or just the axle nut
i would rather use the hex adaptor as the outer nut looks bigger and better than the little nut
fingers crossed i have sort of explained it well
