I want to buy either a pistol or rifle this summer. Not really sure where to start in the pistol department. Looking for something thats cheap to shoot as well as reliable. Doesn't have to be super crazy accurate, just wanna hit a target. Not looking for a revolver. Budget $200-$350. As far as a rifle goes, probably either a 10/22 or Marlin model 60. I like the tube style loading rather than magazine.

Pistols are cool, I like a Walther p22 personally BUT theres nothing like a .22 rifle. Id say 100% get a rifle. I have a couple .22 rifles, one Remington...can't think of the model but its a tube feed and has been an excellent rifle. Got it when I was 18, so like almost 10 years ago and it still shoots like it was new....

If you don't want a revolver, I'd say stick with the rifles. After plenty of research, I'd say the river would be my best choice. Way more customizable options available. My next .22 purchase will probably be a sig ar22. Looks like an a r15, but shoots .22 rds.

For the price you can't beat a Marlin .22 rifle, cheap, accurate and reliable! The Ruger 10/22 is a nice gun but I don't like the clip, I tried larger aftermarket clips and they have all had problems jamming.

I love my Remington Field master model 572 pump, it will shoot shorts, longs, long rifles even if you mix them up and will never jam and it's consistent as can be...Not as cheap as the Marlin or Ruger but very nice!

Rifle with a scope is fun for plinking away an afternoon.
Pistol is fun for what it is, but I always liked popping a target at 75 yards or so with a rifle.

I have both a ruger 10/22 and a ruger mkii with a 8 7/8 barrel. I love shooting the pistol better crazy accurate and fun to shoot.

Ended up getting a Remmington 597 AAC-SD. Now to find a scope for it.
