22.5 V AA Battery??

I was in RadioShack tonight and was checking out the battery section and came accross a 22.5v AA sized battery! On the package it says "For Superior Performance in Cameras and Electronics". Bottom line, will these things fry my electronics if I attempt to use them?? or will they give my servos the power they were destined to have ?

Are you sure it was 22.5 volts? In an AA size? That doesn't seem right. If it's right, then don't use them. Typically, radio receivers and servos are designed to use 6 volts max. You will without a doubt destroy your electronics if you use them.

OK, I looked a little further. It is 22.5 v. Wow. But there's no way I'd use them. They'll fry everything.

my auto start remote uses a 12v sub AA -

never heard of a 22v AA

I was diggin around looking for them as well. I couldnt beleive they could pack 22.5V into a AA size battery. What it actually is, is 10 button batteries stacked in series and wrapped into a AA size package. Energizer even has a 40V battery....looks like the size of 3 9V batts stuck together....same width but very long.

Anyway, I wholehartedly agree....DO NOT USE THESE IN YOUR RIDES!!!!! The electronics in your rides could not handle that voltage.

AA batteries are 1 1/2 volts. That is very basic knowledge. That battery with 22 volts is not a standard AA. For you to ask if they are interchangeable with a voltage difference of 20 1/2 volts is absurd. What were/are you thinking? Maybe R/C cars are much too complicated for you.

the other 21 volts are absorbed in the grey smoke coming off the servo. :smart:
