You are really missing out... I had to put my stock 21bb back in for a bit till i get my buttn head for my WASP 26..... Major difference.... what was HPI thinking?? even with a 48T/13T or a 52T/14T combo less torque power...

raisins and dragons, raisins and dragons.

A Picco 26/Wasp makes all the difference.

Pissant it's cool I have a stock savage 21. Hell you should even feel better right now. I have had my savage for about a month now and well I can't even run it. My broken ass roto start doesn't work. I have the 21BB in it for now. I know I will want to upgrade the motor to something with a 26 in it. I might even get an XTM 24/7 for it.

hey pissant, i know how you feel. I'm bout to get like 500 bucks within this month prolly cause I'm sellin some turntables and all my equipment for it. so imma prolly go with the wasp .26. my .21bb still has a lot of torque and can get pretty fdast. I'm just wonderin what the wasp would do. hehe

WOO HOO my savage lives. After about a month of having it and not being able to run it I finally got it started tonight. Had to get a new pull start for it but I totally got it started tonight. I'm friggin stoked. I think I am going to have tuning questions. The 21BB seems kind of powerful. Of course this is coming from a guy who has never had anything with a 21 in it at all. So newayz Where do you guys usually run your needles. I am going to set them back to stock and see how it works. I live in a some what cold climate right now. Later

The stock setting for the 21BB are kind of rich, but are a good place to start from. As with any engine, the needles will vary from place to place. I'd recommend doing a search for 21BB, needle settings and tuning. There have been may posts about tuning the 21BB and alot of methods outlined.

One important thing to remember, never touch the mid range needle (unless you're taking the carb apart for some reason).

Get it tuned for high speed then start working on the LSN. Do the pinch test to get that set. (good search phrase) Then retune the HSN after adjusting the LSN, and then check the LSN again. A couple times of this and you should have it set.

The 21BB isn't the dog that alot of folks claim it is, but it's not an outlaw 26 either. It's a solid mill that will motivate a savage.

Whitt...

sorry that i started this.... the 21bb is a good engine... i guess that I never really fired it up on a savage... did some tuning and runs pretty good... but here's a clip with the 21BB and the Mayhem tires when I was testing the anti-roll bars

Error thanks for all the suggestions. I too have read that I am to never mess with the MSN at all. I am still a little new to tuning and all that good stuff. My rides always run well but Probably not the best tuned engine there is out there. God I forgot how much I missed the smell of burning Nitro. I am also working on getting my Nitro MT together too. That's another topic though. TRD it's all good for starting this thread. With all the new S-25's out there it's kind of nice to have some folks that actually have some experience with the 21BB around. SavageR21 do as the link says and click it. Once you do that it will do the rest for ya. I'm bashing tomorrow I don't care how much rain there is tomorrow. Later

OK I need a little help yet. It seems that my pullstart isn't consistent at all. It sometimes will turn the engine over as it should other times it will not turn it over at all. I believe I need a new one way bearing. I am going to my LHS in a little while today to hopefully get one. Also I had it running for a while than it just shut off and it will not start again. I set the needles back to stock. I might try richening the LSN, is this a good idea??? Once again it is about 40 degrees here today. Later
