What would it take to put a .21 into a rc10? Got a new FT GT a while ago to race but decided to race my hyper 7 instead. I've got about 300 to spend on this little project, is that enough? If not would I have to change anything to fit a .18.

I would say that is enough, if you have the gt. There are many parts that will break when you strap that much hp into it. You will need rrp transmission gears (not the steel spur), I have an extra mount i could sell you ( i'm having duplicates made, so i will have them soon), you will need rpm a-arms/arm mounts/bulkhead, titanium turnbuckles... then the exhaust.... PM me or catch me on aim. Any other questions, just ask. If you do choose to do this, you better get a radar gun, cause it is fasT!!!

If anyone else wants to do this, i am having custom mounts made and have most, if not all info on what parts you need and parts i reccomend. PM me if you are interested.

ditto on everything rc10 said, i have a picco .21 in my rustler, my eyes dont move fast enough to watch it go lol =devil , get strong tranny components, and try to make ur spur gear the weak point, thats wut i did.

You know, the plastic spur holds up very well with the horsepower. I was amazed, because the steel spur was chewing up clutch bells, even the hardend ones. It will break stuff more often, because speed does do that. If you gear it low enough, it will take flight at high speed. I havent tried a super high speed pass since, because that freaked me out.

Ordered most of the stuff off towerhobbies except diff gear since its back ordered. Shoot me a PM when you get the mounts in. Thanks again for all the help.

Once its finished I'm getting my dad to radar it, since hes a cop. Will post up how fast it goes when I do it.

Did you get an engine? An air filter for the big block? PM or email me your list, to see if you missed anything. Damn, i forgot to take the pick of my throttle linkage setup... i'll get on it!

I think my brother in law would be interested in your list of what to do on the subject. He has an RC10GT and I'm sure he'd like to put an .18 or .21 into it. The .18 would be pretty easy, but the .21 would just be silly. :) and we're ALL ABOUT being silly :)

Heres the list that .21 sent to me:
Diff gear: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...p?&I=LXLL23&P=7

Idler Gear: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...p?&I=LXPZ87&P=7

Top Shaft: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...p?&I=LXL596&P=7 (even though the stock top shaft is metal, it shreds within a few tanks)

You will also need a Traxxas clutch/flywheel/clutch bell setup too. Here are the links:

Flywheel: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...p?&I=LXUR90&P=7

Clutch: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...p?&I=LXUR88&P=7

Clutch Bell: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...p?&I=LXJF60&P=7 (you can go with other ones, they are the same mesh as the stock clutch bell, just the bearings are different sizes to be able to use the big block)

Bearings: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...?&I=LXD115&P=ML

Also, if you don't already have a set of cvd's, i would highly suggest some, because i have twisted some dogbones... The cvd's hold up to the power.

CVD's: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...p?&I=LXAX35&P=7

I would also highly suggest getting a set of heavier duty springs for the back end, because the big block weighs a lot.

Also a arms/bulkhead/arm mounts/ti turnbuckles.

Did you buy the engine with that order? And i forgot to add the airfilter in there.

Ya, I got the hyper 8 port and air filter. I hate breaking in engines tho

Yeah, when i broke my engine in, i spent forever yanking on the damn pullstart to find out there was no gas getting to the carb... I forgot to prime it and i was getting pissed off because it wouldnt start...
