Hey folks, ordered a 20T clutch bell, trying to get the highest possible speed out of my savage X (F4.1 engine) and was disappointed. I have a 18T that I put in and it made a big difference from the 15T, 16T and even a little difference from the 17T so I thought what the heck, i'll get the largest possible gear and try it. haha fact is...the F4.1 engine does not enough snork to turn that 20T. Here are the numbers, 18T top speed (GPS)=40.2mph, 20T=40.6mph. I was hoping for at least one mile/hr. Anyway I came to the conclusion that the 20T from HPI is likely designed to work with the K4.6 engine, which can probably turn it and kick out some good top end.

Anyone out there try their K4.6 with a 20T bell??

What kind of speed have you all seen out of your savages??

FYI I have a 47T spur.

I run 19/46 with my LRP spec 3 and three speed. It is crazy fast. However, as you found out, the 4.1 just does not have the get up and go for such a tall gear.

ya that would be a good set up too. Might not get 40mph out of it with a 2 speed trans, but with your 3 speed, it would be interesting to see what kind of numbers it turns out. I would love to try a 3 speed, with my 47/18 setup.

Guy at BeatYourTruck.com had is truck (I set mine up like his) clocked at 61mph by RC Car Action so yea it screams.
