Hey everyone as i look more and more i see one of the issues with the 2.5 is the bad steering. I have a receiver pack that is charging and the harness ready to go in. I just think it might not help as much as i want. What is everyone using for a better servo? I want to be honest i want a straight drop in with having to do mods or even buying more parts. I need to be 30.00 or less for a straight drop in. I do not need a top of the line servo but what ever you guys use or think will work let me know. I need a servo that will let me turn more tighter pretty much. I use ebay and i buy from tower , i am open to buy from another site but it has to be from the states. Thanks

I use mostly Savox water proof servos. Ebay has them for I think 40 bucks. The HPI SF50 metal geared servo's are great for like 30 or 40 bucks also awesome torque. I would upgrade your steering linkage to the newer #4907 maxx style there a lot better with the built in spring servo saver, and there on ebay for like 7 to 10 bucks. Make sure when you find a servo you want it is 25 spline gear That's what the traxxas servo horns use. The HPI SF50 and the Savox both use the 25 spline.

Savox arent bad at all.....table is turning hulk;)

i need something, on the ground this might be the worst truck i have seen. I did a few min drive after i got it and boy maybe in a wide open field it would be ok but not where i live lol

what model number on the Savox? Any thing in the 25-30.00 range to my door. I want to try the local guy see if he has something used. He sells used ones i just do not know if 30.00 will get me one.

Ya sounds like besides the fact that trx servos are weak you have some adjustibilty issues goin on, my max is supersized but still a maxx all the same and I can second gear crank the steering on grass and turn just fine

I would go the new maxx steering linkage setup with a good steering servo. Also someone might have your truck out of adjustment if it is that bad. Check and make sure someone doesn't have your pillow ball cups in your axle carries over tightened. That can cause it bind up. If your really looking to go the cheap route the Taxxas brand 2075 water proof servo's are ok. I would spend a little more up front on a better servo though. Oh yah I can't let Hotrod get ahead LOL!:p:

i have not run it lol, just half a tank in a parking lot. I can tell it is weak, i am sure even with the receiver pack it will not work well. the steering trim is all the way to the left, and it still pulls i have to re set the steering. I was thinking well i have it off why not just upgrade the steering.I want to go in to the lhs but boy but i do not want to spend 50-80.00. I know he sells used so maybe i will go with 30.00 in my pocket so i do not get tempted to go all out and by some top of the line servo. I do stupid stuff like that , i guess i get nervous hahah

I think there is no issue up front just the steering on the remote is all the way to the left and it still pulls. should i try to pull the saver and put it tad to the right? I want to add i fixed the servo being out of wack

Yes pull the saver and set the trim to 0, while your at it check for binding in all steering componets like hulk said, there may be a few easily fixable problems goin on.
I've never used that brand servo
Spectrum
Savox
Futaba
Hitec
Jr
Are all servos I have used and can attest to quality,

I have only used Futaba but i think i will pay top dollar, i will try the receiver pack and the setting i did. I pulled saver off set it to 0 and put it on, looks like i only had to set it a tad to the right. I can not run it right now as its late, but i did get a set of lights for the truck lol. Only one side works half seeing i guess, thanks for the help. I been so damn happy with this and i been cleaning it all day .

Lol, clean, bash, break, clean, fix repeat....for the most part anyway! But for some it goes like this......
Wax, dry, buff, push on carpet making vroom vroom noises, buff fingerprints repeat
