I love the gauges in the console in front of the shifter. That is harking back to the first Camaro built back in '67. I wasn't lucky enough to have one but my first car (at 16) was a '68 with a 327 and a 2 speed Power Glide (in 1985). That thing was FUN!!! Sold it and got a '69. Sure wish I still had them...

You know I got to thinking.. So many of these newer "muscle" cars are meant to look like the old with new age workings. It just dawned on me that if you want an older car with new tech you have 2 options.

1. Buy one of these new/old cars for 35-40 grand which will be worth 10 grand less after the first 50 miles

2. Go to Barret Jackson and spend something like 60-80 grand on a resto-mod that somebody spent 150+ grand to build. You get a real old car with new age technology. You won't lose your a$$ in value and get near the same reliability.

I'd rather go to auction. Resto-mods are the sh#$!

Lessen,

If I had the money I'd goto Cali and buy a old muscle car from there. They have car lots that are nothing but old cars all over the place, cars in awesome condition.

Maybe I'll start another donation for WoodiE's 69 454SS Chevelle fund :D

Got five words for you: 455 Buick GS Stage III

very nice!!! they 35 seems like a great deal. they sold one for 42 and one for 52 here.

Thats going to be a sweet ride smoke dogg, I'm digging the black and orange!

Do they make any of these in a hybrid???

ROFLFAO!!!!! :stupid: Okay, just kidding... BTW I love the fact that they are bringing back all the old muscle cars, all makes I have found to be appealing to my eyes... but for realistic perspective... I think I am going to shoot for something more economical.

Gimme a 69 Corvette Stingray and a blank cheque

Well Yeah!

I was kinda digging the looks of the new Camaro until I seen the new Dodge Challenger - wow those cars look sick!

SmokeDogg - I'll be happy to test drive your Camaro for you though if you'd like. Make sure all the bugs are worked out of it :D

If you wanna make the trip I will let you take it for a spin!

There is a torque gague on the floor like the 69 too!

Have you watched Barrett in the last few weeks. Cars are going for less than half of what they were 2 months ago. Sad Really :( I would love to get my 69 Camaro back and convert it to a touring edition fully modern. But this Camaro is going to be my daily driver. I would be hard pressed to drive a 69 every day with as many miles that I drive.

But they are SOOOOOO HEAVY!!!

The challenger is way too heavy. Just slighly lighter than the Charger SRT8. Than you have the Camaro that is only slightly heavier than the c6 vette.

Crap... now I have to change my pants... thanks a lot!

I have to say, I'm really digging these new redo's as well.

The saleen up above is just perfect! What a sweet looking car. Kind of makes you want to go out and set fire to every 4cyl and 6cyl mustang you see!

The camaro, also really nice. I'm not sure what year of camaro I really liked, but I believe it was an early model, it was shorter bumper to bumper than the early 70's on up.

Yeah... 69! What a kick nuts car!

My old civic that i blew up could have taken it, back in the day. 9.97 quarter mile. But it wasn't street legal.

i done some work and the car tops out a 160mph

Muscle cars were fast back in the day, but a modern V6 can keep up with or outright smoke most the classics. I will never forget when Hot Rod did their first four-banger build-up. They got 330 horses without a blower, turbo, nor nitrous.
