i am currently breaking in a os cv-x for my cousin. Whenever i hit it with the temp gun it reads 198 or 215 AT IDLE! Does anyone else besides me think this is wrong? What should we do to fox it. I'm running a mccoy plug, trinity monster 20 percent break in blend. I'm done breakin it in but it still gives these outrageous temps. The needle setting are still at factory( 2 out from bottom out for high, half in from flush for low). Maybe it could be the cooling head, it totally sucks. Should a get a better one?

well make it a little richer but thats a guess... keep going and see what happens thats what i would do...

sounds to me like your right on the mark with the temps.

You want the temps to be around 200 to 215 during breakin to properly heat the internals and let them mate properly.

I would say anything under 200 degree's during breakin is not the proper operating temp.

REALLY!?!?!? sweet, i thought i was doing something wrong. Thanks...

Just remerber that ther is no air moving over the engine to cool it, like when the car is moving..
