2 speed question.. adjusting it

hello, on my maximum st, i just got a 2 speed and it wont shift from first to second. I have it adjusted to how the directions say but it still wont shift.. any other ideas on what might be wrong?

The shift adjustment screw should be turned out at 6 turns. If it doesn't work turn it half a turn and try it untill it shifts. If you really don't know how take it apart and it still doesn't shift just take it to your local shop and they should replace it or fix it.

or it could be the engine set to rich. if its too rich then the engine can't make e-nuff rpms to shift

Good call Mike C.. If the 6 turns doesn't cut it, lean the HSN a little bit. Sounds to me like the higher RPM ranges arent being hit.

its hiting a high rpm but it just wont shift...

It sounds like the shift adjustment screw so try it and let me know if it works.
