Ok maxx guys. I got 2 questions for you...

Best pipe that will fit on a t-maxx and an os .18 tm?
Best fuel tank?

I dont know about the pipe but what do u mean best fuel tank. I know people get an ofna 75cc tank for racing cause it is lighter and smaller and I think hurricane products sells a billet al tank that is 125cc

The stock has that huge dip for the ez start. I run pull start. I want a full size tank. Maybe a 150cc buggy tank would do it?

The stock tank is 125 cc and the 150 cc might work but the back pressure might be weaker by abit if u do get that tank it might help if your back pressure line is as short as possible with no kinks in it.

Learn something every day I had no clue what size they where I've seen some cool aluminum tanks but the added weight would be something to consider.

ya the tank would be more weight but if u got rid of the EZ start it should even out the weight

I know you could drill holes in it to make it lighter hehe :jk:

New Era makes a kit with the ofna 125cc tank and mount. I think its like $25 or so. I have one on my t-maxx.

I like the slimeline rear exhaust for the stock 2.5
not sure what I'd run w/ the OS...probably a fantom, RDL or sirio pipe....I use the RDL curved pipe w/ my P2 and it sounds real mean...

I am currently running and old-school Associated #7730 tuned pipe on my OS .15. Works well. For a while it was one of the better ones. I'm not sure about newer ones, but this one works great...

You can easily make a bracket for the OFNA 125cc tank to fit where the receiver box lives if you don't mind moving things around. The stock tank and hurricane tank are both 125cc. The aluminum tanks suck for a couple reasons, you can't see the fuel level and they are cumbersome to fill. I had the hurricane tank and liked the durability of it, but after a month or so of running it, I sold it because of those 2 reasons.

Here's a shot of my 2.5 chassis maxx when I had it. The tanks is the OFNA tank, the engine is an Orion 18 and the pipe/header is a Power Racing combo I bought at my LHS.

I have more pics if you want to see the throttle/brake servo placement and receiver placement.

olds,
I know I've asked before, but can we see a good overhead pic of it?

Thanks

I have a few close ups of the receiver box mounting, fuel tank bracket and how I placed the throttle/brake servo as well, but this is the only full top pic I have. I don't have the truck anymore, so I only have what I took of it then.

With this set up, I beat the living crap out of it. ACNCM Aluminum bulks, Pro-line steering, RC Solutions skids/bumper plates with rubber grommets bolted to the bulks, aluminum chassis rails, RPM arms, RPM towers, UE SuperMaxx shocks, Orion 18, OFNA tank, RD-Logics cvd's, Maximizer diff cups, Integy diff cases.

How is that Rx box mounted on top of your steering servo?

Is that an Ofne buggy fuel tank? Do you remember which buggy, and/or if they are all the same?

Last, but not least, is that your Rx pack betweenthe Rx, and throttle servo with the hose clamp holding it on?

The receiver is mounted with stand offs and the servo mount is aluminum with threaded holes that go clear through. But you can do the same without a servo mount at all and just use long bolts. I used one of the recievers exhisting holes but also drilled a hole through the bottom to get the right spacing.

The fuel tank is a 125cc OFNA tank ($10 at tower):OFNA Tank
The bracket holding it is just a piece of steel that I cut with a jig saw then bent it to fit with pliers.

Yes, the battery pack looks retarded, but I made 4 of them out of 2100MaH NiMH batteries. They last many hours running high torque servo's, but they don't fit in any typical battery boxes. I tried about 5 or 6 different ways to mount it in the truck, the hose clamp with a piece of rubber innertube was the most solid and stable. I cut a slot in the chassis plate to run the hose clamp through. It also makes it relatively easy to swap out a receiver pack if/when it dies. I have yet to have one of the packs go dead on me though, and I spend 4-5 hours out at a time in the summer beating my savage and used to beat my maxx the same... but I was fixing it every hour ;).

Here's some pics of the receiver box and fuel tank, it's not my prettiest work by far, but it got the job done.

Thanks. I've been wanting to find a way to get rid of the stock thottle linkage for some time. Just about everytime I land a jump on the gas the bar from the swivel post to the carb gets stuck in the spur gear leaving it WOT, and it pisses me off.
