hi,
i have done about 30 to 40 tanks on my savage. now i am facing two problems.
1. My engine idles nicly, now when i hit the gas till half she moves smoothly. but when i go futher to full, the engine starts loose power and regain and it goes on.
2. it does not shift to 2 gear.
PLEASE SUGGEST.

It sounds to me that your high speed needle is too lean. Try richening the high speed needle unless it is definitely running rich already.

I am not sure about the gears though as I have no experince with them. Perhaps because your engine keeps loosing power at full throttle, the engine never reaches a high enough rpm to engage second gear. I am not sure though.

i checked my engine its running rich and the temp is around 230 .

I agree sounds lean, richen the HSN 1/4 turn and see what happens.
First check and replace all your fuel lines and tank O-ring for the lid. Look the exhaust over good for leaks. Check the fuel tank for cracks/holes.
That much fuel thru it some of those items may be worn or damaged causing it to starve for fuel under W.O.T. conditions, yet be rich at lower throttle settings.

I doubt highly you have an air leak, if you did it would idle erradicly, it would also cause the temps to be higher than what you said your temps were. If it is not shifting, and running like a dog on top end you may be too rich on the hsn rather than too lean. It sounds like your lsn is probably pretty close, but it too may need adjusting once you get the hsn set properly.
