hey guys i am having a problem with my 2.5r it will run ok until about 235 degrees then it just shuts off. i suck at tuning but i can't even tune it like this it runs for 30 seconds then just dies, then i have to wait for it to cool down before i can start it again. theres tons of blue smoke and it does this no matter what i do. i tried it at hsn 3.5 turns out and lsn at stock setting and it still wont run for more than 30 seconds. what should i do?

about 12 tanks through and I'm using a really high end laser temp gun at the glow plug
 
Well, at 12 tanks, it's not really broken in yet. I just recently broke in a 2.5R for my jato and it ran like crap for about 10 tanks and still gave me fits in general for another 10-15. It's getting better now.

I'd richen it up a bit and try to just get some fuel through it.
 
so turn my hsn counter clockwise? sorry i probably sound like an idiot but I'm not too educated on these.
 
yep. Richen it up a bit by turning the HSN CCW (high speed needle counter clock wise) about 1/2 turn and just try to bear through the aggravation of it without getting too upset.

That said, you may want to pull the engine and check everything for tightness and leaks just to rule it out. The TRX engines are well known for leaking around the carb base and back plate, which requires disassemble, cleaning with DA (denatured alcohol) and sealing it up with RTV. Also wouldn't hurt to loosen the head screws and re-tighten it back down in a X pattern so you know it's mounted flatly and properly.

This thread gives you explanations and photo's of how to properly seal an engine. Not your engine, but the steps are pretty much the same on all engines regardless of make/model/size.
