ok just broke a motor mount and when i went to remove the head to access the mount bolts 2 of my head bolts were loose. when i tried to tighten them up both had the threads in the block stripped out. been wanting to upgrade any how i have had the truck for about 4 years now what is a good strong up grade motor (not 3.3) i want something that will be a little stronger than the 2.5 and not have to do alot of mods to get it in. any help would be greatly appreciated

If you want some thing a little stronger and don't want to make mods then the 3.3. is the way to go and traxxas has a motor exchange program where you can get a 3.3 shipped to your house for $115.00 dollars...

The only other option was the OS18TM, but they don't make it anymore since the OS21Tm came out... which is far more expensive and more than likely grossly overpowered for it's intended vehicles.

Your LHS may have a 18Tm on the shelf collecting dust... keep in mind they were selling for under $140 right before they were discontinued. Great little engine. I had one in my revo that I transplanted to my jato when I sold my revo. If I had known it was going to be discontinued, I'd have bought 3 or 4 of them at $140 and sold them (while keeping an extra for myself ;) )

EDIT:
bastages... Stormer says they have one at $179!

The new .21 tm will fit without any mods, but it costs almost 300 bucks. If you can find a .18 tm on ebay that's probably better.

thanks for the info I think the 3.3 sounds like my best bet I will go see what my lhs has in stock

Usually you do better to buy it outright and sell the old motor on ebay or keep it for a spare, but since your engine it shot to crap anyway, might consider then engine replacement program.
