Was wondering what people think the best radio gear would be in the $100 price range for 2.4 GHz mainly will be used just for bashing and plan on buying my own servos.

DX3E is a nice radio for but only one model memory.

You might want to find a Spektrum DX 3.0. They aren't really expensive and have 3 model memories.
I like my Futaba 3PM,they can be found used for under $100.

Spektrum DX 3.0!!!! I used to have one at least I'm pretty sure that was the model Never thought they came down in price that much. The one i had before selling all my equipment was alittle more expensive but this was about 4 or 5 years ago and it came with 2 servos and a extra receiver. Will have to look into that
Well after looking at it closer this is not the model i used to have because from what I gathered the DX 3.0 doesn't have the built in fail safe like my old on did and if i remember right it didnt have a binding plug either...now that makes me wonder what model i had......but I'm still going to look in the DX 3.0 when i get the Savage X SS build up when ever i get it.

I have the dx3.0, it does have the built in fs, but I think that's more the receiver than the remote.
95$ is a good deal. Back when new, they were quite a bit more.

Well i have the traxxas (4-channel) 2.4 with traxxas link so i can have up to 20 cars off of 1 remote, I paid just over a $100 for remote and receiver. Let me know what you do buy because i have heard of nothing but good things from a Spektrum.
