Charged everything... put car/truck on block ( break in) ... started and ran it..

Ran well BUT fuel ( something wet ) was coming out of exhaust. ( tells me to rich ) Being the n00b that I am (1st car ever) I just want to make sure.

Is it to rich or do I need to check something else?

BTW it was spitting not dripping!

Nope, you're fine, man! Do you have a temp. gauge? If not, get one! You want to run it rich as you break it in, but you want to get those temp's up in the 220-230 range to make sure it 'breaks' in properly. Running it too cold and rich during break-in while cause as many problems down the road as running it too lean and too hot.

Basically, if you're following the manufacturers directions, you'll be good to go!

As Monkey said, you're good. A little spittle is fine. A tep gauge is probably a good idea doing the break in on a block, though temps are probably cool enough this time a year as to not worry as much. One of the best $25 you can spend on nitro R/C is a decent little temp gauge. BTW, I take my pipe off every so often and flush it out to clean all that oil and gunk out of it.

Welcome to the site.

As the others said, want some excess coming out. A nitro engine should have a trail of smoke coming out of it. Helps keep it cool. Seems like the stuff leaks out of the muffler weeks after you ran it. :)

What kind of car do you have?

Thanks for the replies.

I have the MT2 car.

Can someone point me to a good site to buy a gun. I really dont have time till the weekend to go back to the hobby shop.

Engine Oil

What is after use engine oil and is it required? How do you use it?

Also, how do you know when to fill or replace shock oil and other oils?

After run oil is a lubricant you use after running you nitro engine, you put a couple drops down the glow plug hole and a couple more down the throat of the carb and also remember to take your mill off of TDC (ie)top dead center when you shut it of that there will greatly improve engine life, shock oil should be replaced when it becomes grey looking.

TDC -top dead center will be very tight and extremely hard ot move with your finger .
BDC will be the exact opposite

and honestly i am not being a ass here but 99% of these questions are answered many many times somewhere in here ,
try searching alittle in here for answers if you can't find them ,then ask away and we will try to help

To find BDC, you can also take out the glow plug and turn the engine over. When you see the piston (through the glow plug hole) is as far down as it can be, mark the flywheel so you know where to put it without pulling the glow plug in the field. You want to do this before the engine has time to cool down. So, doing it after you get home (or whereever) after the engine is cooled is kind of pointless.

I do this for the entire life of the engine every time I shut it off.
