will a 19t motor with a 20t pinion/88t spur or a 81t spur/ 23t pinion. witch one is faster? or any other suggestions would help. ( trinity chamelion2 pro in a 1/10 st w/ 3300 NI-MH batt).

Thank You For All Those Help.

What car are you using & can you go with 96 spur if so try it with a 36 pinion

The simple answer to your question is that the 88/20 (gr 4.40) will be slower on the top end but give you quicker acceleration. The 81/23 (gr 3.52) will give you more top end speed but slightly slower take-off. And if you go with 710's suggestion, that gives you a gear ratio of 2.66 which again will give tons of top end but slower acceleration. If you're just running in the street or in a basically straight line, the lower ration will give you more speed. But if you're going to be racing on a track, you'll need to test a few ratios to really get a good balance between high speed in the straights and good low end power to get you through the technical sections...

Hey Guys.
Thank You For Your Input.
96t Wont Work. I Will Try A 81t- 23t Combo. And Go From Their.
Its On A 1/10 ST.

Thanks

Why oh why does everyone start on the wrong side???????

You would want to try the other ratio first. It's much easier on the motor and would give you better runtime. If it's enough gear then all is well.

Trying the other setup first and finding out it's overgeared only heats the motor up and destroys the brushes and springs.

Always with electric cars start with the higher numerical (sp?) ratio and work from there.

what ratio is best? i can't run any larger than a 88tspur.
i want very good low end and a bit more speed.

you could also buy a bad ass battery. if your running a sport pack now and yo buy a mached pack with 1.165 or up you will notice the difference. i know i did.
