I have a .18tm (fully broken in) with a 2.5 pullstart. I recenlty had just broken a pullstart and purchased a new one. When i put the pullstart on and pull back it recoils, but it takes one or two seconds to recoil back in. What would my problem be?

the screws are too tight on the pullstart , on the back

thanks guys..loosened up the screws and it worked perfectlly.

i had the same problem, i had a handful of very small washers layin around, i placed these inbetween the pullstart assembly and the back plate, no problems since

I had to do the same thing. Then I was able to tighten them down and not worry about loosing them.

However, I only had that problem with a used pull starter I had on hand. I bought a new one for a 2.5R on ebay and I didn't have the same problem.

well, theres a piece of plastic.

theres the screws u take out to pull the pullstart apart, well that first piece of plastic you pop off, its kind of "flared" where the plastic is that the OWB slides into.

i've heard that the flare dpiece of plastic is what holds up things. i trimmed one on one of my pull starts, and it helped only a little.


with no washers, and everything tightened down. it recoils. but kinda slow.

so i added the washers back. with no worries.


can tighten down the screws, not have to worry about them falling out or something like that.
