my os .18 run alwaise over 240 max 270 but with blue smoke

i don't know if is normal to run this temp in the manuel is not indicate

yea, try to stay under 250, however its not going to kill your engine if you run a little hotter for a shortened time. Just dont constantly run at like 270.

Richen it up a bit and temps will drop.

Which os 18 is it? 18 CV-R or 18TM?

I have a hard time getting mine up to 200 and I've run close to two gallons through it. I ran yesterday for about 5 tanks in my revo and it hit 205. It was 80 degrees outside.

I don't have a .18, I've got a T .15 Nitro Star (HPI) and my temps run 270-280 with smoke, but when I richen the HSN (even slightly), it bogs, sputters and dies.

I've got a Traxxas temp gauge that I mounted (with wire wrapped just below cooling head). I've conceded that it's not as accurate as a temp gun, but it should be close enough. Anyway, I run my truck up the driveway (about 100') and back a few times. I stop the truck to check the temp, when it says 270-280, I kill the motor and let it cool and look for more information on tuning.

ya if your useing the traxxas onboard gauge typically you can add 20 to 30 degrees to that number for a plug temp. so i would say richen it up. if you know someone with a temp gun have them check it for you and compare numbers then you will know how much to add or subtract for a plug temp
