110MPH + out of slash 4x4

Okay it wont do 110 with traxxas brushless system and i just sold it.

I was at the lhs yesterday and the guy pointed me to a castle creations 4 pole 5700kv motor with castle creations mamba max pro ESC. He said with a 2s lipo at 50c discharge rate the truck will do close to 115mph, and with 2 3s lipo's in series or parallel connecters it will do close to 140mph. Is this true?

I have a Venom 2s lipo with a 50c discharge rate at 5600 mah 7.4v battery and the guy at the lhs said with the system posted above i will get around 110mph. Now befor i buy the system is what he is saying true and what do you guys think of that set up.

He is 100% full of crap. It will MAYBE do like 65 with that setup and the right gearing. Plus, with the slash, it will get airborne at aroun 60.

Well their where 3 guys their that seemed knowledgeable about it and they all said the same thing but i can't comprehend thought's kind of speeds. But if it was possible then i would be interested but since their full of it, what do you guys think of the set up though because castle says it gives a lot of torque with a 4 pole motor.

Torque doesn't equal speed. I had that setup on my slash 2x4 running on a 5400 mah 3s lipo, and it did about 55mph before getting airborne on flat ground. And that's with almost a half pound of weights in the front end to try n hold it down.

yea i know toque doesn't equal speed but my friends and i like to get a little redneck some times and hook up our trucks and see who can drag who and a 4 pole motor looks like it gives some good torque which i like. And that esc from castle is programable. But what I'm really looking for is what do you guys think of castle products because i have never switched before iv only used traxxas water proof brushless systems and i want to explore different options.

Castle makes outstanding products BUT you arent going to gain much by switching from a vxl setup.

I'd say maybe a 5-10 mph gain on something like a 11.1v 3s between the two system.

No, there were three guys trying to convince you to buy it.

Just tell them to prove it by taking a brand new Slash out of the box, putting that system in it, and run it down the street with a cop's radar on it.

Well the big problem is i need a new motor and esc because i sold the traxxas system. So what do you guys recommend for good hp and torque, And keep in mind i like castle people seem to have good things to say about them.

Thats why I dont like hobby shops. Everyone I've been in has had someone trying to BS their way into a sell. So many times I've been in a local hobby shop where they would try to tell me something about my crawler or lipo or just electric in general that was so off base I literally laughed at them...

The system is great. Mamba systems are the only esc's i use. I'd defiantly go with that setup. You just won't see the BS speeds they are trying to convince you of. The torque is amazing. It makes the power and acceleration of a bl setup makes it one of the most powerful ways to run RCs.

Think about it this way, 5700kv x 11.1 v (3s lipo) = 63270 rpm of the motor
