That is the standard for most blue groove tracks, you want to go up a little in weight as some tracks have more traction, that number is way high to me and I have seen nobody run that hight but FRB says some do. I would think that is more of a bashing weight I stick to this which is from the Storm Pro build on twf8.com (some of the best in the biz imo)

Keep in mind CS and WT are very different measurements. CS is used in Europe and Japan while we call it weight or WT here in the good ol USofA. I will look for a refference scale on Cs vs. WT

Here this will shed some light on the story.
For those of you just entering 1:8 scale racing. Just a little story about shock-fluids.

For normal shock absorber use, this rate may vary between 100 Cs until 500 Cs. Nowadays we use O-ring sealed diffs, so we can use silicone oil in the diffs instead of thick grease. For diffs the rate may vary between 1.000 Cs (loose) up to even 500.000 Cs (very, very, stiff).
Some USA based companies are still using the "WT" rating, where Japanese and European companies use the better linear Centi Poise rating. A lot off people think that the ratings between the "WT" and "Cps" ratings are linear but this isn't the case. For shock absorber use, this is the comparison table when using LOSI, ASSOCIATED and SERPENT silicone oil rated in "WT"" ref here:

The 50 Cps steps between "Cps" rating are linear, where the 5 WT steps used in the "WT" rating are progressive compared to the real thickness of the oil.
The best way to measure fluid thickness or to say viscosity is to measure the flow of fluid itself in certain time trough a hole. Simple!
Diff oil is the same silicon oild as shock oil just a lot heavier stuff. Make sense?
