After our illustrious president announced he would be coming to town over the Memorial Day weekend to survey our tornado damage, the Westboro Baptist Church announced they would be here to protest. Well it turns they were spotted stopping for a break at the local truck stop and after some truckers found out who they were, they pulled their rigs around and blocked them from leaving. :first_place:
I was also told that when asked what they were going to do about it,the police said they would take care of it "when they could find the address". :hehe: One of them did make it into town but was met by a mob of bikers that quickly chased him off. Eye witness accounts say the police did their job to try and protect this individual but were out numbered and while trying to hold back the bikers they yelled "run for it you stupid mf'r"

They were warned that Joplin wouldn't tolerate them!

Sorry but who did they block, the president or the protesters?

That's awesome. God bless truck drivers, and bikers. :) Randy what exactly were those idiots protesting in your area, I just can't see a reason?

Good for them.

I want to kick all protesters of anything in the junk just on principal.

They couldn't have blocked Obama, the police had his route guarded WELL in advance of his arrival. He drove by only 2 blocks from my house.

They were protesting Obama sympathizing with Joplin. They had posted on their site "Thank God for 125 dead in Joplin" and that "Joplin had got what it deserved for their sinful lifestyles".

Those people are so stupid. When they protest it just shows how damn stupid and ignorant they are.

That's the same BS they spewed about New Orleans when Katrina hit.

And this is why God loves truckers and bikers!

Wow! And that's a church group? Where are those idiots from?

They are more like a cult group that hides behind the laws of a church....Bunch of cowards!

Karma. Someone needs to tell those miserable dirt bags about it.
It will come back around and give them the serious ass kicking they deserve.

I did a little research on these despicable A-holes. It seems they are more hated every day.

Brandon, Mississippi will go down in history as the town where the Westboro Baptist Church met its match.
The lunatics showed up to protest at the funeral of local hero Staff Sgt Jason Rogers who was killed in Afghanistan, but left town without making a peep. They may have made a few moans and groans, but no peeps.

Westboro Baptist is really more of an asylum than a church

The Hayride has the righteous report:
A couple of days before, one of them (Westboro protestors) ran his mouth at a Brandon gas station and got his arse waxed. Police were called and the beaten man could not give much of a description of who beat him. When they canvassed the station and spoke to the large crowd that had gathered around, no one seemed to remember anything about what had happened.
Rankin County handled this thing perfectly. There were many things that were put into place that most will never know about and at great expense to the county.
Most of the morons never made it out of their hotel parking lot. It seems that certain Rankin county pickup trucks were parked directly behind any car that had Kansas plates in the hotel parking lot and the drivers mysteriously disappeared until after the funeral was over. Police were called but their wrecker service was running behind and it was going to be a few hours before they could tow the trucks so the Kansas plated cars could get out.
A few made it to the funeral but were ushered away to be questioned about a crime they might have possibly been involved in. Turns out, after a few hours of questioning, that they were not involved and they were allowed to go on about their business.
No lawyers. No judges. No counter protests. Just a good old fashioned ass kicking.
That’s exactly what the Westboro lunatics have been asking for, so it’s only fair that the good folks in Rankin County gave it to them.
Next time, put it on pay per view and make a fortune for the widows and children of the military heroes. We know we’d pay to see it.

^^Rolex, that's awesome!

That's absolutely ridiculous. I'm no textbook Christian, but doesn't the bible say to love your neighbor, and to love your fellow man the same as you love yourself of something to that extent? Their actions don't sound very Christian based on any church I've ever attended. Oh well, not my place to judge, but you can bet they will be. ;)

I've seen similar protests by the "Rev." Fred Phelps in the Topeka, KS area. He is as reviled in his home area there (Topeka) as he is everywhere else. He will do a protest against any subject you can think of just to hold a protest. The good news is that there aren't many members of his congregation and the most vociferous are his wife and daughters.
