I just baught a hyper .21 8-port off of ebay ..i failed to notice before i baught it that the guy cut the crank shaft so its not sg ne more and it needs one of those nuts with the shafts on it...what i was wondering is if there are any good 1/8 clutch set ups for threaded style shafts..i really wanted to put the ue4-shoe on it but its for sg shaft..would it work if i baught the ue clutchnut/shaft and still be able to use thier 4-shoe clutch...thanks--Joe or are there any companys that make a good quality 1/8 clutch for threaded

Keep an eye out on ebay for a new crank. They are relatively cheap there. I havent seen many threaded style clutches, but then again, i have never used or have had the use for one.

Possibly a Kyosho part, as I remember one of the earlier Kyo bugs having the need for a cut shaft. As for which buggy, that's as good as a guess as I've got.

Your best bet is to do as .21Rc10GT said and go with a new crankshaft. Research the part number by downloading the manual from www.rcdocuments.com - then go to ebay and bang that number in. On the search results, if it doesn't show up, check 'search title AND description', and that should get you a listing or two.

You need a pilot shaft. Ofna has them.

so if i got a pilot shaft do u think it would be an alternative to a new crank shaft...or only sg clutches will work with an sg shaft..

You'd be smarter off to replace the crankshaft with a new one. The clearances/alignment might be off too much with a pilot shaft adapter.

I think all you need is the clutch adapter nut... I don't know why it wouldn't work.

I used one of these on my OS 21 RG (pilot shaft/sg) after cutting the end of it off with a dremel. I didn't have an extra flywheel nut laying around, so I cut the end off of one of these things.

Careful! Olds is known widely around for his duct tape and JB Weld projects! J/K!

His tip might work but I suggest just getting a new crank if you really want to do it up right.

SLANDER ALERT!!!! SLANDER ALERT!!!! SLANDER ALERT!!!!

I don't use duct tape... zipties and hose clamps maybe, but not duct tape.

I was just trying to get him by. If new crank is $40, the adapter nut/shaft is $4. It might be worth $4 to try. He's going to need a flywheel, collet, shoes and a bell anyway.
