Hey all I resent ally decided that I want to get a 1/8 buggy or truggy not to sure though because I live in a quiet area and I’m not to sure if the peeps around me will complain about the noise but wondering what is a good choice for a new rc.

Just adding this is my first nitro and if I don’t end up liking nitro and decide to convert it to brushless are the any conversion kits available for them and if they can handle the brushless power.

My starting price range is around $350. If u guys/girls have any suggestions it would help.

Thanks Scott.

If your worried about noise being a problem, you'd probably be better off going electric from the start. To buy a quality nitro buggy/truggy, then deciding to convert to brushless would end up being around a $2000 investment.

good advice^

As for the buggy or truggy question I would say truggy because they can take a little more abuse, I think I read that some where on here. I also dont know if buggys come with 4wd but I know truggys do.

Stadium truck. Your hitting on a good point here. I believe a vehicle has to be 4wd to be considered a truggy. I'm not too sure on the specifics though.

One vehicle that I've been wondering about is the traxxas e revo with the wing and the 2008 revo platinum to me they look like truggys but traxxas labels them monster trucks. Witch one would you think it is?

Sorry for hijacking your thread scotty.

Well, I suppose the big tires on the Revo is what makes it a mt. With some 1/8th scale buggy tires and a lowered suspension, it could be called a truggy. I guess...:) I'm sure there has to be some specific specs that determine what class a vehicle falls into. Track width and wheel base most likely. I'm just a broke basher, so I really don't pay attention to the racing side.

You are not the only broke basher. I don't know how I afford this hobby, but somehow I do.

Truggy is single gear with center diff and a single plate chassis, with the engine mounted on.

MT is 2 or more speed reduction transmission with or without center diff. With the chassis thouching the ground the engine must sit 2.5mm(not completely sure on the number) or higher off the ground.

No matter what you do, a Revo is a "monster" truck.

hmmmm good advice i think i might get a truggy is the cen matrix tr arena any good?

my lhs has parts for the cen matrix tr arena and cen matrix adn the hobao hyper 7

To be honest it is a bit fragile in the steering components. Otherwise it should serve you well.

does any one have any photos fo there buggy or truggy setup that i might be able to get an idea from and is the hyper 7 tq sport .28 any good and also the kyosho dst?
