Hey guys. I've been tossing around the idea of getting a 1/5 onroad motorcycle. I have no knowledge of which are better than others, so I'm looking for some pointers from you guys. I know I want electric and I would like to build it to look like my old 1:1 bike. That being said, do they make a gsxr1000 lid for them? And can you find extended swing arms for them? Any help/insight is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Mud

I've got 2 Thunder Tigers, one electric and one nitro. The electric will eventually be converted to brushless/Lipo. (The wheelie bar is waiting)
Parts for these are mostly stock, but a few custom parts are available.
I STRONGLY recommend you stick with Thunder Tiger and TOTALLY avoid the 1/5 bikes that show up on eBay in the hundred dollar range. Trash toys.

The Thunder Tigers run about $350. Bodies are available as Ducati,Yamaha and Honda, that I'm aware of.

If you want to go bigger, there's a 1/4 scale dirt bike out there.

To the best of my knowledge there are only three companies that are still producing a 1/5 hobby grade road bike that isn't garbage.

The Thunder Tiger SB-5 that Rolex mentioned, brushed or brushless

The Duratrax DXR500, which gets good reviews and can be had brushed or brushless from the factory as well.

And the Nuova Faor's; bring deep pockets if you want one, because much like their Italian 1:1 counterpart, they're proud of them. :D BUT, they are the cream of the crop for high end RC bikes.

Ok thanks guys I'll look more at the thunder tiger. Could either one of you take a pic of the swing arm setup for me? I have access to a machine shop where I work, so I might could try to make an arm or have the machinist make one for me.

Thanks again guys!

Thanks Rolex!!! Looks easy enough to make. Defiantly on my to buy list! Just wish they made a gsxr lid for it. Oh well, will be fun regardless!

Oh, I so want a GSX-R, a pump operator I work for has one, he's asking 6,000.00 for it, so I asked him if he'd consider taking a partial trade for one of the raptors, but he wants one of my trucks instead
