Ramps looks great Lessen. Looks like a nice scale for your mini.

Just to update.. I've decided on a different aproach to the surface construction. I'm just going to use multiple strips going across the ramp. Of course I'll keep the ribs running vertically. It won't be as smooth but it should be much stronger. I'm going to attempt to finish tonight.

Not having much luck with the cardboard surface. I've pulled up a couple attempts already. I'm gonna try Savagefan's posterboard idea. I'll probably need a few layers but after I hot glue the first I can simply Super77 extra layers on top for a stronger surface.

you could try your local art store or hobby lobby and get some cold press illustration board. We use it for some art projects. If you were anywhere near i got a bunch of scraps. it would mold better than cradboard and provide better support than poster board.

here is a link to what it looks like but you can buy it in single sheets. www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000A3VXWG/sz-category409-20/ref=nosim

actually, I think the posterboard is gonna work great! I have the first layer hot glued. Just from placing another piece on top I can tell it's going to plenty sturdy once I get 3 or 4 layers on. The only flimsy part is the very bottom of the ramp where there is no support. I think once I get a few layers of posterboard on there it will be ok though.

Excellent job bro, It looks great! This thread is making me want to give minis another try...Not sure if I can handle the action shots :jittery:

A few action shots

It was pretty tough to get these with a moving obstacle. Thank goodness for a patient wife :)

The real fun begins when I can get more than a 4 foot headstart :)

Thanks to everybody who helped!

Thanks again fellas! Yeah, I'm really happy with the ramp. Gives my Mini-T just the right height and lots of distance. I was able to jump onto my coffee table today, it's 22 inches high. If I moved it so I had more room to land I could clear it with no contact. It's 37 inches wide. Too bad I don't have a vidcam.

Thanks fellas.. been a while since I've had it out. Actually, I DO have a video camera now.. I should try to make a short vid sometime.

Looks great!
I really like the way the hill looks like a smooth curve. Very cool. I have built a few small similar ramps (none looked as nice as that one!) but have run into an interesting problem. Even though it's meant for inside, the odds of you just rolling up (and down) the other side turn out to be slim. Ramps are ment for jumping. Hills are meant for rolling over. I'll have to see if I can find a pic. (I don't have the ramp any more) but I had a way to extend the center. I wanted to still land on the ramp on the way down, but wanted a little air time before that landing.. and with a ramp like yours, I could never get myself to lay off the throttle and take it nice and slow.

Great job on the ramp. Can't wait to see the finished project!

Brian
