1/10 R/C CLK-DTM Team Vodafone AMG-Mercedes

I am new to the r/c world and just purchased my first "learner car"!!! I got the everything in a box 1/10 R/C CLK-DTM Team Vodafone AMG-Mercedes. The car is a great lttle car but my question is, is there any way possible to make it a 2 speed car. I thought I was buying one but when I got it out in the parking lot it only has 1 speed. Oh well it was only 85 bucks. And also are there any aftermarket stuff to "boost" it up a little?

Not entirely familiar with that car. What brand is it? Do you have a link to where we can look at specs or the chassis? I would try to find an online or local hobby shop that sells parts for whatever brand it is and see if they have a 2-speed upgrade.

Ok, if you google Tamiya 2-speed, you'll get some transmissions and parts to build them. As this is your "learner" car, you might want to just run it as-is until you get used to it, before throwing in 2nd gear and having it be too fast. If you do a some research, you might be able to find a similar car that uses the two-speed trans, and you could probably mod it to work in yours.

I'd leave it as is if it's holding up ok. It cost $85 for a reason. It probably won't take much tinkering or hold up to higher speeds. When your ready for more performance and tuning options, upgrade to a higher quality rig. Edit: It may be of higher quality than I was thinking. Looks pretty decent, but it is discontinued. There's probably all sorts of parts available for it though.
