For you gas guys out there, do you think different brands of fuel make a difference in how your vehicle runs? It may be all in my head but it sure seems like the truck runs smoother and gets up quicker when i run shell gas in it. Its a 2006 1500HD crew cab silverado with a 6.0 in it and its pretty much a dog all the time but when i use exxon or chevron in it, i believe it gets worse.

I sure miss the chipped diesel i had with the last company. :(

shell produces a better mix of gas then the other guys.witch makes your truck run smoother and faster.

Said the guy who can't even drive yet.......

Anyway, i dont really worry about gas..... Diesel is my main concern. lol. I Usually fill up at a Race Trac just because they are usualy the cheapest. Kinda hard to F' up diesel, unless it has just been sitting for too long, or got too cold.

I buy whatever is cheapest, usually Thortons if I'm at home or Shell if I'm up at school. I keep track of my MPG tank to tank and don't notice too much of a difference with any brand I buy. I never use Clark, when I was like 6 or 7 I thought that it would rot your seatbelts away, so I've just never used it. The only major difference I notice in MPG is the difference between winter and summer, I get about 50 more miles to a tank in summer.

thanks james, that's exactly what i needed to know.

my mpg sucks no matter what i run. i get 8 in the city and 13 on the highway.

I always run shell unless I'm out of town and running out of gas, then anything will have to do. My Silverado crew cab gets 17/21 (not bad for it's size) on shell which is about 2 mpg better than the others.

dang man, that isn't bad at all. Does it have the 5.3? Mine has the 6.0 and the best i ever got was 16mpg and that was driving 50 for about 3/4 of the tank

Yep it's the 5.3, I think it's just the gearing in that HD that kills it for you.

i want to say its 3.73. It doesn't pull worth a crap and has more balls on the top end than it does the low end so maybe its 3.55??????

Mine has the 3:43's and it pulls pretty good as long as you hit that tow button, then it really gets thirsty. If I don't use the tow button it sucks!

A tuner I know says he can tell on the Dyno when someone is using gas other than BP. Only gas I use in my Camaro unless I can't find a BP then it gets Shell. In my other cars......Whatever is cheapest....
