I didnt realize that Hobbywing was making the Spektrum stuff but looks like they are cuz its the same exact ESC. The HW manual at least gives some insight in to what the algorithm is trying to do for each setting. This is straight out of the MAX6 manual. Its lame cuz everytime I go from running...
Yeah, I have different methods available to me to deal with the issue, this post was more about trying to get an answer to my question because almost every other ESC on the planet just has specific values you can set and they cut off at that level. Whatever formula or algorithm this ESC is using...
Thanks for your input on this slick. My testing shows that the true C rating for my 120C SMC packs (I just realized teh other day they are supposedly 120C packs not 60C) is about 26C and the Hoovo and Zee packs are around 20-21C. I wouldnt think that the difference in true C rating would be...
I would think so too. I mean I get they arent super useful for ground kits unless you're just a geek like me who likes to play for electronics but for the airplane guys these kinda of tools are more critical for them so they can test their set ups on the bench before risking their planes in the...
Ok, looks like were back in business. I found a data logger that Hyperion makes and theres even a mod (of sorts) out there that will let it do high current tests so i ordered it now we wait....
If you guys didnt see my other thread the Eagle Tree is a no go. I'm not sure its up to the task as it has 150A max and as weve seen the K8 can pull as much as 240A. The real problem though is Eagle Tree went out of business. If I could buy another one then Id risk the one I currently have but...
As soon as the K8 hits LVC, I pick it up and carry it back up my driveway to the garage, pull the lid, pull the battery and then take voltage readings. So they may get 60-90 seconds to rebound.
Then you didnt read the thread but theyre all pretty similar. Theyre all either 5000 or 5200mah packs...
I'm sure you're right. I'm sure HH will never be able to answer this as they would have to probably reach all the way back to the development team to get a meaningful answer and they will never put that much effort in to finding out. That being said we'll see where it goes. Once I get my eagle tree...
Heres horizons newest response and my reply.
HH: "It sounds to me like the battery you're using is the culprit here. Because if you're charging the other batteries on this same charger and it's working properly. It wouldn't be the charger. It also isn't our batteries so we cannot confirm the...
LOL< yeah I got a good chuckle out of that when I read that in the other thread. So dumb
I've tried calling HH support line 3 times now over the last 2 weeks and every time I call like even right now at 8:45am they say "Our call volume for the day has been exceeded. Please send us a message."...
One of the only 2 on topic comments I got on the arrma forum was talking about how the cheaper zee and hoovo packs may be suffer more from voltage sag but I can't imagine they are sagging from 3.75v/c down far enough to trip LVC but even if they are then how do you account for the SMC packs that...
I'm not trying to rip the guy apart I'm just pointing out to him the inconsistencies in his answers in hopes that he will dig in to it more and come up with a real answer. Problem I run in to is once they've replied to you a couple/few times they stop answering your replies even if they havent...
So as a couple of you may know I was recently in the Arrma forums and messaging HH to try and find out what the LVC setting n the 160A Firma ESC are exactly. For those of you not familiar with it the ESC doesn't list specific voltages for the LVC to kick in. instead it says "Auto - Low", "Auto -...
