Today I had nothing to do so I was going to touch up some scratches that were on my zippo. Soon after than I figured out that the "brushed aluminum" look is like 1 thousandth thick and I was only using 500 grit sand paper. Probably should have used a scotch pad, but I like the raw brass look

Low quality pictures because they were from my cell phone.

This is what 1 started with:

EDIT: Rolex, what should I polish this with?

I just went through 5 large boxes of different buffing compounds but they all hardened up. Does it really matter what compound that I use because I am trying to achieve somewhat of a shine and mostly want to get some scratches out that the orbital sander left because I was using 150 grit; I didn't even check what pad was on the sander.

Just for curiosities sake, if you are wondering why I have so much compound is because my dad is a mechanic and painter, not that you care. ;)

Mothers aluminum polish and the buffing wheel on the dremel........Bling Bling
