My first RC's were all just Sears and Radio shack "toys" when I was growing up. My best friend across the street got a Tamiya Blackfoot and I was hooked. I remember asking my parents for one for Christmas and that year I got yet another Sears toy.... my parents said that Christmas.... and I will never forget.. "you know those trucks from the hobby shop you have to build?" I still had fun with my toys though! Well years went by and my girlfriend bought me the one and Only TMaxx 2.5 for my birthday the first year we were dating. Needless to say I married her! That started it all for me. I am still holding out for a Baja but for now my collection has grown to almost 12 cars and trucks. I don't get to mess with them as much as I used to, but I still have the passion, and get out as much as I can to burn a pack or two in the back yard.

My father bought my brother and I Blackfoots in 1987. I can remember over hearing him mention that he dropped over $600 for the two trucks, two 15 minute chargers and two 1200mah packs.:)

For its day that was one hell of a truck. I think I spent more time driving it than my best friend! Man RC's have come a long way. I remember that blackfoot having a manual speed control!

I have fond memories of asking(many, many times) for that 5 bucks to get more dog bones. "Quit hammerin' that thing from reverse to forward young man!!!":)

I have never owned a non hobby grade RC. My first experience was watching my dad build and run the original Tamiya Rough Rider in the early 80's.

My first RC was the the Tamiya HotShot when it first came out. 4wd so I had to have it so I can dust the Frog, RC10, Hornet and Scorpion my friends owned.

Second was a Tamiya followed by the Kyosho Assault which was my first nitro. I then upgraded by HotShot which was basically a box of parts with a Tamiya Thundershot and followed that with a Losi Junior T.

At this point I got married in July of 1990 and I essentially put the RC's I had left which were the Thundershot and Junior T and Clod in storage.

Then one day I visited my dad and he busted out the original T-Maxx. Heard that sucker shift into 2nd gear and I was hooked. Picked up a Maxx 2.5 in 2002/2003 and have been back in the hobby ever since.

I still have the Thundershot and Junior T. I also have my dad's Rough Rider.

My first RC was many Gemco RC’s yes I’m that old!! Lol!! My first somewhat hobby grade was a Tyco Turbo Hopper the one where the drivers head would turn with the steering on the remote. Well that lasted about a half a day!! My parents took me down the street to our LHS and I got my first true hobby grade RC!!! Tamiya Grasshopper kit!! After that Losi, Team Associated and finally Traxxas in the mid 80’s. I’ve been RC’ing for about 40 years off and on. Now I’m back in it loving the hobby even more than ever before. Happy RC’ing Y’all!!! 🇺🇸❤️🤘🏽🏁
