Hey guys, what are your thoughts towards the HPI RS4 Racer 2? I have heard they are pretty good racing cars. Is this true? Does anyone have one of these.
What engine should I install?
I want a .12 probably becaus they rev higher and they have more horsepower usually.
Thanks for any input.
Peter

I don't see much RS4 2's around here where we bash. There is this one mechanic who has one. It's pretty fast, he's got an RB on it. Another local guy has a RS4 2 with an O.S. But he mostly runs his TC3.

Personally, I like Yokomo's GT4 for belt driven. But I'm too into the shaft driven kits like the Type SS and the TC3.

I would consider another car other than that. Hpi have been running/making that same type of chassis layout with that car for more than 5 years. The chassis is pretty old, they just threw a few hop ups on it and thats how they kept it up to date. It's a good racing car, however it is a old chassis, for what your paying for, you might be able to get a better car than that. The original RS4 is what I started out with, I have been through at least 7 of these cars. I have a mtx-2 and a tornado for sale if interested.

i would have to agree with everyone else, although the racer isnt a bad car, it is fairly outdated with limited support. Unless it was given to you, or was for sale at a very low price, i would recommend going with something else. If you are serious about racing, i would recommend either a serpent 705, serpent impulse, mugen mtx3, or a trinity reflex pro. If you plan to just bash and race at the club level, nothing, i mean nothing can compete with the NTC3

Hey, I have the Serpant Impulse.
It is a very fast and reliable car.
I have won many races with it.
Thanks for the input. I will choose a different car for a next project.

The onl;y way to go these days is get the AssociatedTC3 kit and do all the hopups right off the bat. I been running mine since the first week it came out with the ofna\picco 7port turbo outlaw platnium for a little over a yaer and it is the easiest car to wrench or maintain.

Good luck
