RC Driving Style
Hello i have a yokomo gt-4. I am driving it with a os .18 which has 31,000rpm. standard shaft engine?

1. What is the fastest gear ratio i can use between the spur gear and pinion gear?
2. What is the right right spur / pinion setup?
3. Do you have a gear ratio chart?
4. Also do you have the mathmatical forum formula to calculate the speed of a car?
5. What are the best tires for the gt4?
6. What offset can the gt4 use?
7. What are the best foam tires?
8. How do i get the yokomo to stop fish tailing?
9. If you have a website or link that could help me with all this, please let me know?

Yokomo setup

Without actually seeing your car, it's hard to tell what exactly you need to do to change your setup. I've been running my GT-4 for about four years. I'm now running an Orion Wasp CRF.12.

The cars were designed to run .12 engines, you may be over-powering yours and causing it to spin. Mine will spin too with the twelve in it, however, I've adjusted the servo speed using my radio (Airtronics M8 radio) so that the throttle won't open quite so fast.

I race at a parking lot and run rubber tires. I have the front set up hard and the rear set up soft. Lately, I've been running the Sorex 40R's. On my front suspension setup. I use the silver springs and 50wt shock oil. I runa diff in the front with 50,000wt oil in it to act as a limited slip.

On the rear, I use the dark green springs and about 35 wt shock oil. In the rear diff, I have 1000wt oil. When runnung rubber, I have found this settup works best for me.

If you're running foam tires, the set up will be opposite, soft in the front and hard in the rear.

As far as gearing goes, you'll have to experiment with different gears. If you are looking for more high speed, you should try bigger pinoins and smaller spurs.

Each track condition basically calls for a specific setup. Hopefully, I gave you some options to try out. Keep me posted on your results.
